Alex's Birthday, and Random Summer Fun at Home

Alex turned 4 on July 13. My parents were in town the weekend before so we were able to celebrate a few days early.
Alex is a very sweet boy. He thinks of other people and wants to make sure they are taken care of: if he has a popsicle, he always wants to make sure the other kids have one too. He and Rose can be the best of friends and play wonderfully together, or they will push each others buttons all day long! He loves to play wild and is a rough-and-tumble boy. He enjoys riding his bike, riding his scooter, swimming and doing whatever Drew and the bigger boys are doing. He's always got a bandaid somewhere, but he's tough....as long as he doesn't see blood. :) He is very coordinated and can throw like the bigger kids. He's not much shorter/smaller than Drew either. He's very smart and very observant....sometimes too much so. We love him to pieces!

He wanted a minion cake, so we made our own. Thanks, Mom.
He had been asking for a hat for months. He loved this one and wore it all day! He still enjoys wearing it a month later.

New 2-wheeled Avengers scooter. Now he's really like the big kids. And his old 3-wheeled scooter (that was originally Erik's) has now been passed on to Rose...it's 5th owner. :)

Random summer fun at home before and after Alex's birthday, and before we went on vacation:
Checking out the robin's nest now that the birds are gone.
 Water fun
Butterfly Pavilion for a friend's birthday party.
 "Eating" yogurt
 Ice cream for dinner. :)
Playing in the street after a quick, but heavy, rainstorm.
Me and my little boys. Love these two cheeseballs.
More water fun.
Playing at the park.
Popsicles, one of their favorite treats this summer.
Jumping in the bounce house.
Fourth of July. We actually made it through the entire fireworks show!! All of us!! First time ever. The rain held off. Drew and Rose weren't crazy about the fireworks, but they didn't mind as long as Daniel and I were holding them.
Daniel took the 4 big kids to a Rockies game. Unfortunately, they never got to see it because there was an hour+ rain delay. They left before it started. Still had fun though.
He loves TMNT, and especially Raphael. They've never seen the movies, but I guess they've seen the cartoon a few times.
Rose was helping the neighbor trim his trees. Haha (This was one of their play tools, but it's what Daniel saw when he got home from work. Haha)
